FTP Site
- Go to http://www.nimlokdesigners.com
- Enter “Username” DMD004
- Enter “Password” nimlok (all lower case)
- Click on “Login”.
- Once logged in, click on the “Upload File(s)” link in the top left-hand corner.
- Select the number of files to upload from the drop down list. Note: We recommend uploading all of your files as one compressed file. See note below.
- Be sure you send your Joan Carol Exhibit Consultant or Production Manager an email notifying them that you have uploaded a file. Tell them the file name(s) you uploaded.
Compression Recommended:
We highly recommend that you compress files before you upload them. Zip compress all files into a single zipped folder when possible. If you have multiple files, drop them into a folder and compress the folder to make them into a single file. Zipping a file can shrink a file’s size up to 50% depending on the file type. This, in turn, cuts your upload time and puts the file in a binary format that works better over the internet.
Graphic Guidelines
Graphic/Inkjet File Preparation Guidelines
Preferred Application Files
- Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator
- Do not tile mural images or separate them into different pages. Create murals as a complete image and we will tile panels according to our output requirements.
Photoshop Files
- Set up Photoshop files at 150 dpi @ final size for best quality. Save as CMYK TIFF. 100 dpi or better for larger prints is okay, or if a large file size is a problem to transport.
- Scans should be 150 dpi @ final size. Save as CMYK or an RGB TIFF. 100 dpi or better will provide acceptable quality.
- Unable to scan. Send transparency film/photos and we will do the scanning for you.*
- Avoid compressing files for best quality.
Illustrator, Freehand, and Corel Draw Files
- Include a fonts folder with both printer and screen fonts. Convert type to outlines if possible. Send fonts even if the type is outlined.
- Native Photoshop CMYK or RGB [PSD] files are OK to import/place in Illustrator.
- Do not embed images in Illustrator, Freehand, or Corel Draw files, link/place them instead. ( Embedding an image could double the size of your file. It is unreliable in determining image quality & resolution).
- Do not mix EPS and TIFF imports/placed images.
